All Souls Day -2 Nov. 2023

The Archdiocese of Bhopal celebrated “All Souls Day” on 2 Nov. 2023 by offering special Mass and prayers for the departed souls at Bhadbhada and Bairagarh cemeteries at 7:30 am and 4:00 pm respectively. A large number of Christians paid homage to the departed souls of their ancestors and loved ones of their families by decorating with flowers and lighting the candles on their tombs.
Archbishop Most Rev. A.A.S. Durairaj, SVD said in his homily that "When we pray for the souls of the faithful departed, we are praying for those whose souls are journeying through purgatory, being prepared for eternal life in heaven." We believe that our prayers for them will help to speed their journey to eternal life with God in heaven, said the Archbishop.Fr. Edward Francis proposed a vote of thanks to all the priests, sisters, and laity gathered in large numbers for the Eucharistic celebration.
